REPORT OF Manager Development Services
DESCRIPTION Construction of a three storey building for
the use of a Police Station including basement carparking for fourteen
vehicles. APPLICATION SUBMITTED APPLICANT/S United Group Services OWNERS State Property Authority (Crown) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The application seeks approval for the demolition of all structures on the subject site and
the erection of a three storey police station to be used by the Granville
Local Area Command. Works are also proposed to two rear lane ways, which will
provide access to the basement car park and to provide on-street parking for
rapid response Police vehicles and disabled persons. Additional information and amended plans have been submitted during the course of the assessment of the application. The application has been assessed by an independent planning
consultant and referred to the Central Parramatta Planning Committee as
Parramatta Council recently has a pecuniary interest in the land as the land
was in Council ownership until The application has been made by the Crown and the provisions of Part
5A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act apply. The proposal is
considered to be acceptable, is generally consistent with the Disability
Discrimination Act, Parramatta LEP 2001, Parramatta DCP 2005 and the
Granville Town Hall & NSW Police Station Precinct Master Plan 2008. Where
variations to these documents are proposed they are relatively minor and have
been adequately substantiated. Accordingly, the application is recommended
for approval. |
(a) That the Central Parramatta Planning Committee approve the development application, for a period of three years from the date of the Notice of Determination, subject to the conditions of consent in Attachment 2 of this report and subject to the written approval of the Minister being provided in accordance with s.116C of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act if the applicant does not concur with the recommended conditions. (b) Further that, objectors who made submissions be advised of the decision. |
