Joint Regional Planning Panel – Council’s Submission to the Minister for Planning

 

 

I am writing to you to request your support for Council’s proposal to the Minister for Planning that the Parramatta Central Planning Committee (PCPC) be empowered to consider those developments that would otherwise be considered by the Joint Regional Planning Committee (JRPP).

 

The PCPC has operated effectively over a number of years and includes representatives from the state government, the highly respected former federal minister Mr Tom Uren and a representative of RAIA.  It is noted that the City of Sydney will retain it central planning committee and will not be subject to a JRPP. Council believes that a similar approach should be adopted for Parramatta.
