REPORT OF THE PARRAMATTA TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 10 JUNE 2010 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, COUNCIL CHAMBERS BUILDING, CIVIC PLACE, PARRAMATTA AT 1.30 PM

Parramatta Traffic Committee Chairperson Cr Andrew Bide declared the meeting open at 1.38 pm.

That the report of the Parramatta Traffic Committee meeting held on Thursday 10 June 2010 be taken as read and be confirmed as a true record of the meeting.

1006 A1         Rawson Street, Epping – Relocation of ‘No Stopping’ sign

                        Recommendation to Parramatta Traffic Committee:

 

That the 'No Stopping' sign at 17 Rawson Street, Epping be relocated to the power pole in front of 15 Rawson Street, Epping.

 

Comment:

 

The representative of Greg Smith MP provided the Committee with details of discussions with Eastwood Police regarding the traffic calming in the street.  The Police did not raise any objections to the traffic calming works.

 

                        Recommendation from the Parramatta Traffic Committee

 

That the 'No Stopping' sign at 17 Rawson Street, Epping be relocated to the power pole in front of 15 Rawson Street, Epping.

 

 

1006 A2         Wentworth Avenue, Toongabbie/ Pendle Hill – Petition Requesting Traffic Calming, 50 km/h Speed Limit and Turning Area

                        Recommendation to Parramatta Traffic Committee:

 

1.         That installation of speed humps is not supported in Wentworth Avenue between Pendle Hill and Toongabbie Railway Station.

 

2.         That the existing double barrier centre line (BB) in Wentworth Avenue, Toongabbie outside Nos. 387 to 421 be replaced with a separation (E1) line.

 

3.         Further, that Council write to the Roads and Traffic Authority to consider installation of a 50km/h speed limit restriction in Wentworth Avenue, Toongabbie/ Pendle Hill.

                        Recommendation to Parramatta Traffic Committee:

 

1.         That the proposed event be classified as a Class 2 Event (according to RTA’s Guide to Traffic & Transport Management for Special Events).

 

2.         That the closure of Rawson Street, Epping between Bridge Street and the entrance of the Epping RSL Club carpark at 45-47 Rawson Street on Sunday, 29 August 2010 as detailed in the attached Traffic Management Plan (TMP), be supported in principle subject to the attached traffic related conditions and be referred to the RTA as per normal process.

 

                        Recommendation from the Parramatta Traffic Committee

 

1.         That the proposed event be classified as a Class 2 Event (according to RTA’s Guide to Traffic & Transport Management for Special Events).
