RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER

1. That
the Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer delete Victoria Road in the eastbound
direction and replace it with O’Connell Street and Grose Street, Parramatta as
detailed in the report.
2. That the proposed The Sunsuper Ride to
Conquer Cancer, 2 day 200km ride scheduled to be held on the weekend of the 13 and
14 October 2012 be classified as a Class 1 Event in accordance to the Austroads
Guide to Traffic Management, Part 9 – Traffic Operations (Table 6.4 – Special Event Planning Matrix) and Guide to Traffic and
Transport Management for Special Events.
3. That
the use of local roads, cycleway and/or shared pathway within the Parramatta
LGA for The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer is supported in principle subject
to the attached traffic related conditions including the submission of a
completed Special Event Transport Management Plan template with supporting
documents to Council and RMS.
Comments
The Police did not
support the event travelling through the Parramatta CBD.
Recommendation from the
1. That the proposed The Sunsuper Ride to
Conquer Cancer, 2 day 200km ride scheduled to be held on the weekend of the 13
and 14 October 2012 be classified as a Class 1 Event in accordance to the Austroads
Guide to Traffic Management, Part 9 – Traffic Operations (Table 6.4 – Special Event Planning Matrix) and Guide to Traffic and
Transport Management for Special Events.
2. That
the use of local roads, cycleway and/or shared pathway within the Parramatta
LGA for The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer is supported in principle subject
to the following:
a. The dates of filming of a scene of
Wolverine in Parramatta and advice from the Department of Premier and Cabinet
meeting on 9 August 2012 regarding The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer.
b. The
traffic related conditions attached to the report including the submission of a
completed Special Event Transport Management Plan template with supporting
documents to Council and RMS.

includes Civic Place and Civic Lane be extended to include the land at the rear
of the buildings at 12 to 28 Darcy Street, Parramatta.
2. That the parking spaces at the rear of 12 to
28 Darcy Street, Parramatta have a ‘P – Tennant Permit Holders Only – Permit
must be displayed in or on the vehicle and clearly visible’ restriction.
3. That the parking spaces at the rear of 12 to
28 Darcy Street, Parramatta be linemarked as 90 degree parking.
