REPORT OF THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING ADVISORY GROUP MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 31 MARCH 2011 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, COUNCIL CHAMBERS BUILDING, CIVIC PLACE, PARRAMATTA AT 1.30 PM

1.         That ‘Keep Clear’ line marking not be installed at the exit driveway from 46 Wellington Road.

2.         That the occupants of 46 Wellington Road be notified of the reason for this recommendation.

 

 

 

1103 B6         CAMPBELL HILL ROAD, GUILDFORD - PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING AND OTHER ROAD SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS

                        Recommendation to the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

1.         That Council write to the RTA with a plan showing suggested locations where the RTA can install additional 50 km/h signs in Campbell Hill Road, Guildford.

2.         That Council write to the RTA requesting that it modify the traffic signal timing at the intersection of Campbell Hill Road and Rawson Road to improve pedestrian safety.

3.         That Council note that the petition for traffic calming does not meet the requirements for inclusion in the Road Safety and Amenity List for consideration of funding as it does not show that signatures have been collected from 50% of residences of the street

 

                        Comments

 

                        Ms Maria Swallow, the representative of the RTA advised the Committee that it is possible to modify the software of the signals so that there is a slight delay in the green phase for motorists while pedestrians commence crossing the intersection.
