1. That the proposed event be classified
as a Class 2 Event according to the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management, Part
9 – Traffic Operations (Table 6.4 – Special Event Planning Matrix) and which
has been adapted from the Roads and Traffic Authority Guide to Traffic and
Transport Management for Special Events.
2. That the closure of Rawson Street,
Epping between Bridge Street and the entrance of the Epping RSL Club carpark at
45-47 Rawson Street on Sunday, 28 August 2011 as detailed in the attached
Traffic Management Plan (TMP), be supported in principle subject to the
attached traffic related conditions and be referred to the Roads and Traffic
Authority.
Comments
The Committee did not
support a multi-year approval for the road closures.
Recommendation from the
1. That the proposed event be classified
as a Class 2 Event according to the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management, Part
9 – Traffic Operations (Table 6.4 – Special Event Planning Matrix) and which
has been adapted from the Roads and Traffic Authority Guide to Traffic and
Transport Management for Special Events.
2. That the closure of Rawson Street,
Epping between Bridge Street and the entrance of the Epping RSL Club carpark at
45-47 Rawson Street on Sunday, 28 August 2011 as detailed in the attached
Traffic Management Plan (TMP), be supported in principle subject to the
attached traffic related conditions and be referred to the Roads and Traffic
Authority.
3. That the Development Application component
remain separate to the application for road closure for Epping Street Fair.
4. That the application for the road
closure and submission for the Special Event TMP be considered on a yearly
process.

TO ‘NO PARKING’ RESTRICTIONS IN THE LANEWAY TO THE REAR OF

to
1. The no parking restriction which
currently applies to the northern side of the lane be removed;
2. A no stopping restriction be put in
place only in those areas on the northern side of the lane where it is
absolutely necessary to ensure unhindered entrance to and exit from driveways;
3. A 15 minute parking restriction be
applied to other areas on the northern side of the lane, applicable Monday to
Saturday from 8am to 6pm, with the exception of areas immediately behind 253
Victoria Road which are wide enough to permit extended parking without
obstructing access to the lane.
4. A no stopping restriction be applied to
the entire southern length of the laneway from Bridge Street in an easterly
direction;
5. The situation and effectiveness of the
restrictions be reviewed 6 months after the installation of the signage.
6. Adjoining land-owners be consulted
about the proposal and a report returned to the Parramatta Traffic Committee
for their consideration.
