REPORT OF THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING ADVISORY GROUP MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 6 APRIL 2009 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, COUNCIL CHAMBERS BUILDING, CIVIC PLACE, PARRAMATTA AT 1.30 PM

Recommendation to Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

That Council consult with residents of Beamish Road to determine the level of demand for time restricted parking and a resident parking scheme.

 

Recommendation from the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

1.         That Council consult with residents of streets in the area bounded by Briens Road, Redbank Road (not including Redbank Road), Toongabbie Creek and Kleins Road to determine the level of demand for time restricted parking and a resident parking scheme.  Note that exemption for permit holders would not apply in the retail section of Kleins Road.

 

2.         That Council monitor the No Stopping on Kleins Road.

 

3.         That the disabled parking not be altered on Kleins Road.

 

4.         Further, that Council note the RTA advice that changes to the traffic signal phasing at the end of Kleins Road and Briens Road not be altered.

 

 

0904 B3         Traffic Management Plan for the closure of Market Street, Parramatta for NAIDOC Burramatta Family Fun Day in Prince Alfred Park at 353D Church Street, Parramatta (DA/119/2009)

Recommendation to Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

1.         That the proposed NAIDOC Burramatta Family Fun Day be classified as a Class 2 Event (according to RTA’s Guidelines to Traffic and Transport Management for Special Events), and be approved subject to the traffic related conditions as detailed in Attachment ‘1’.

 

2.         Further, that the closure of Market Street to vehicular traffic from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Sunday 5 July 2009, be approved in principle, as detailed in the attached Traffic Management Plan (TMP).

 

Recommendation from the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

1.         That the proposed NAIDOC Burramatta Family Fun Day be classified as a Class 2 Event (according to RTA’s Guidelines to Traffic and Transport Management for Special Events), and be approved subject to the traffic related conditions as detailed in Attachment ‘1’. 

 

2.         Further, that the closure of Market Street to vehicular traffic from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Sunday 5 July 2009, be supported in principle, as detailed in the attached Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and referred to the RTA as per the normal process.

Beecroft Road, Epping – Crash Barrier

 

Comments

 

The representative for Greg Smith, MP tabled a speech in Parliament from the MP regarding the proposed crash barrier in Beecroft Road, Epping.  The Chairperson suggested that a report on this matter be provided to the next TEAG meeting.

 

Recommendation from the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

 

That a report be provided to the TEAG meeting in June regarding the proposed crash barrier in Beecroft Road, Epping.
