That Council seek funds for a raised pedestrian crossing at 187 Caroline Chisholm Drive and include this in the Pedestrian Projects List.

Comments:

The representatives for RMS advised the Committee that the proposed pedestrian crossing does not meet the RMS special warrants.  The Committee noted that there were no reported collisions involving pedestrians at the location of the proposed pedestrian crossing or the existing pedestrian crossing west of the roundabout, from July 2005 to June 2010.  It is noted that there is a refuge island at the location of the proposed pedestrian crossing.

The representative of the Member for Baulkham Hills suggested that Council seek 50% funding from the Hill Shire Council as the location is near the border of the Councils.

Recommendation from the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

That Council seek funds for a raised pedestrian crossing at 187 Caroline Chisholm Drive and include this in the Pedestrian Projects List.

For:          Councillor Bide and the representative for the member for Baulkham Hills voted in favour of the proposal.
