this matter with the office of Geoff Lee, MP.

PEDESTRIAN
CROSSING

1. That Council note that a pedestrian refuge
island has been included in the Pedestrian Projects List for consideration of
funding in a future budget.
2. That a pedestrian crossing not be
installed.
Comments:
The
Service Manager, Traffic and Transport advised the Committee that the Austroads
Guide to Road Design provides similar advice to the Australian Standards.
Austroads states:
It is desirable to ensure that such control
devices are only provided where sufficient pedestrian demand exists, as drivers
who use the route regularly will tend to ignore the presence of a device if
they never see it used.

The Service Manager - Traffic and
Transport tabled the Traffic and Transport Management Plan (TMP) for the
Soundwave Revolution Sydney 2011 music festival to be held on Sunday 25 September
2011 to the Committee. The document was provided to Council on
the morning of the TEAG meeting. It details the traffic and pedestrian
arrangements for the event in

was noted by Snr Const Natalie Burston and the Service Manager – Traffic and
Transport that the event manager had provided varying information on details
such as entrance location, pedestrian route and crowd numbers. It was noted
that a full closure of
The Committee noted that the
application currently has significant deficiencies and can not be approved. It
recommended that the TMP not be approved, unless the applicant submits a
satisfactory version of the document by 15 August 2011.
Recommendation from
the
That the Soundwave Revolution Sydney
2011 music festival be classified as Class 2 Event in accordance to the Guide
to Traffic and Transport Management for Special Events and the Transport
Management Plan be refused, subject to the applicant meeting all standard
conditions for Class 2 Events to the satisfaction of Council, Police and the
RTA.
Further, that the applicant to
finalise their application prior to Monday 15 August 2011, otherwise the matter
will not be further considered.
