1009 B1 Victoria Street, Epping – Buses using the street

Recommendation to Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

That Council write to Sydney Buses requesting it to investigate using Kent Street rather than Victoria Street in its next review of bus routes.

That Council advertise a proposal for the existing load limit on Chesterfield Road to apply to buses.

Comment:

The representative for Greg Smith MP tabled a report in relation to this item (this report and the original petition are attached).

The Committee noted that on 10 October 2010 the 548 service from Parramatta to Epping will cease and the Parramatta to Macquarie Park via Epping M54 service will commence. This will reduce not-in-service buses in the area.

Recommendation from the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:

That it be noted that the STA will place an advisory notice in its Depot instructing drivers buses not use Victoria Street when not-in-service or returning to the Depot.

That Council write to Sydney Buses requesting it to investigate using an alternate route to Victoria Street for its not-in-service buses.

That the petitioners be advised of Council’s resolution.
