REPORT OF THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING ADVISORY GROUP
MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER

CONFIRMATION OF THE MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 8 OCTOBER
2009:
That the report of the Traffic Engineering
Advisory Group meeting held on Thursday
8 October 2009 be taken as read and be confirmed as a true record of the
meeting.
BUSINESS ARISING:
Council’s Service Manager – Traffic
and Transport, referred the Committee to Item 0910 B7 of the Traffic Engineering
Advisory Group meeting held on Thursday 8 October 2009 and gave an update as
follows:
0910 B7 Traffic
Management Plan (TMP) for
1. A meeting was held with the RTA, Police,
Council and the Event Organiser regarding the Australia Day event. The final TMP is not yet available for the
meeting. Council will forward the TMP to
the RTA for its concurrence.
2. Maria Swallow suggested that a debrief be
organised after all events. The Director
or delegates of the Parramatta Park Trust be invited to the debriefing.
Council’s Service Manager – Traffic
and Transport, referred the Committee to Item 0910 B5 of the Traffic Engineering
Advisory Group meeting held on Thursday 8 October 2009 and gave an update as
follows:
0910 B5 Traffic
Management Plan (TMP) for the closure of
1. The RTA has raised no objection in relation
to traffic movements near the surrounding road networks on the event day on
Friday 19 February 2010.
2. Consultation has been carried out with Westfields
in relation to accessing the loading area in Aird Street off Church Street
(south).
3. Consultation is currently being undertaken with
the Taxi Council in relation to a taxi set-down/pick-up area.
4. The final TMP is not yet available. Council will forward the TMP to the RTA when
the final TMP has been completed for its concurrence.

Comments
The representative for
Wayne Merton MP, advised the Committee that heavy vehicles use the northern driveway
off Junction Road (near Romulus Street) to access the loading area located at
the rear of the Winston Hills Shopping Centre. These heavy vehicles cross unbroken double
centreline marking to turn left into the property. As the driveway is near the bend, trucks are
not visible to westbound motorists on

in relation to heavy vehicles accessing the Winston Hills Shopping Centre using
the northern driveway off
