That Council list the proposal to
restrict traffic in Fulton Street to left in/left out at Darcy Road with a
median island and install a traffic island in Darcy Road, (opposite the left
in/left out island) in the Pedestrian Projects List for consideration of future
funding.
Comments
The Representative for Roads and
Maritime Services advised the Committee that the ‘RTA Supplement to Austroads
Guide to Design Part 4A 2009 section 6.2.3’ does not support the use of Figure
6.3 (of the Austroads guide) for unsignalised intersections. Therefore, the
proposed traffic island in

1. The item be deferred and the design be
altered to incorporate 2 travel lanes in Darcy Road (eastbound),
Wentworthville.
2. That Council seek further information from
the Traffic Policies, Guidelines and Legislation Section of Roads and Maritime
Services regarding its departures from Figure 6.3 of Austroads Guide to Road
Design Part 4A.

That Council write to the Minister
for Roads requesting the following:
1. A review of the rejection of
the proposed parking restrictions in Railway Parade, The Avenue and Kemp Street
2. That Granville Railway Station
be removed from the list of nominated railway stations until there is certainty
regarding commuter car parking in Granville
3. A review of the process for
gaining approval for parking restrictions near nominated railway stations
That Council request a meeting with Transport
for NSW to discuss its review of the future car park program and the current
all day parking in Councils car parks in the Granville Town Centre.
