Ward: Rosehill
State Electorate: Parramatta
Recommendation to Traffic Engineering Advisory Group:
That the update regarding improvements on Hill Road, Wentworth Point be noted.
Comments:
Councillor Noack asked the committee the following questions:
1. Has the Federal Government provided the $8.5 million for the Hill Road upgrade?
2. What is the updated completion date for the traffic signal construction at the intersection of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway?
3. Has Council received updated plans for the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Hill Road and Burroway Road?
Richard Searle of City of Parramatta Council advised that Council staff are currently in the final stages of preparing the Project Proposal Report (PPR) to the Federal Government’s Infrastructure Investment Program (IIP) under which the funding is being provided. The due date for the PPR is until the end of August, however, it is anticipated that it will be submitted by the end of July. The IIP funding team have advised Council that it will take a couple of months to process the PPR and to get the funding agreement executed.
With regards to the construction of the traffic signals at the intersection of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway, Richard Searle advised that primarily due to the delays enforced by Ausgrid, the updated completion date is now in September 2023.
